Dev Blog #10 - Demo release recap and Steam Next Fest!

Welcome back for another dev blog!

It’s already been over a week since our demo release, and it’s been a blast hearing all the positive feedback and getting to know some of the early adopters! We’ve also been watching and interacting with some of the Twitch streams and have some exciting news about Steam Next Fest for you today.

Release Week Recap

The first week of the demo release has been an extremely exciting milestone for us. It’s been great to finally see players engage with Project Planet and provide us with valuable feedback, but most of all enjoy the game! We’ve already seen a steep increase in Wishlists and traffic, so thank you so much for that! We were also able to join the latest edition of #PitchYaGame on Twitter last Friday, to share the game with even more people.

Twitch Streams

Over the past two weeks we’ve already seen a lot of Twitch streamers picking up the game. We’re incredibly grateful in particular to UserFriendsly for frequently playing the game with his audience and providing us with much needed feedback, as well as FlynnyFae for having us for a dev interview and play session.

Of course a big thanks to all the other streamers that are picking it up as well! Next week we have something exciting planned with Coppersan and Raar Maar Waar, so look out for that. And if you know any streamers that like to engage with their audience, please suggest they have a look at Project Planet!

Steam Next Fest & Other Events

Finally we have some exciting news to share, as Project Planet will be participating in the next edition of Steam Next Fest! We’re hoping to reach a ton of new players and interact with as many people as possible. Be sure to check out the official livestream (to be scheduled soon) as part of the festival for a developer playthrough and Q&A.

But that’s not all, as Project Planet was selected to showcase at the Indigo Festival in Utrecht, The Netherlands on the 21st of June. We are very proud to be part of the select 22 games that were chosen to participate in this year’s edition and looking forward to meeting press and industry professionals there!

Last but not least, Project Planet will be joining Test & Play for the Test Before The Fest event in Rotterdam on June the 15th at the Poing Arcade Bar. There, we will be testing the game to gather some final feedback and potential issues in the week leading up to Steam Next Fest. So if you’re in the area and want to play Project Planet live with other gamers, come check it out!

That’s it for today. Exciting times ahead!

Be sure to join our Discord community to discuss the game, or if you want to get in touch or ask us questions! And see you at Steam Next Fest!
